If you want to get software cheaply you should try ebay, i got my photoshop and illustrator from there for like £20! Graphic tablets are harder 2 get on the cheap though, ive just ordered one which I had for fork out a bit for

yeah. i think 21st century isn't just about computers, technology and things like that. it is just a medium. a tool. although, they have a very big influence and effect to our lifestyle, it is not the only medium for art production. art can evolve without it. the man is the womb of art...heart, soul, mind, and everything. it is the roots of art and tradition. and you have great stuff out there! postmodern rules, man! peace!

I think it's a good idea that you want to try to go digital, but yeah that's costly... I really do like your cross-hatching though, I can really see the dimension with your line quality. Anyway, try what mango-tree said and try ebay? It's usually worth the search

If your willin to use your mouse for your art, GIMP (General Image Modification Program) Is a goodplace to start, and the download is free.
Google it, I didnt have any trouble finding it.

nah- todays art is like todays music: oldschool is just as popular as newage. so if there's no other reason than wanting to keep up with the times, then just stick to your style, because art by the technologically impaired is just as appreciated!
and hay, if you really think you'll enjoy playing around on tablets etc, and stuck that you won't sell ya daughter, then maybe consider pawning off the missus..?
